SIALIA
CURRUCOIDES — MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD
A mated pair rest in trees near a river. They are building a nest together for one of their two annual broods. Though often silent, they will sing a low, warbling tru-lee for each other. They most often make their home in the tree-covered mountains and open landscapes of western North America, generally above seven thousand feet though its nesting habitat is declining due to other species and so is their population. |
