Starve Hollow State Park, Indiana A
lovely lake, some happy geese and soft mountains don't tell the whole
story here in the Hoosier State's Jackson-Washington State Forest. The
park's ominous name comes from a heartbreaking tale featuring a toddler
who found his way out of those mountains to repeat the few words he knew,
"mama hungry." Upon investigation, the little boy's mother had
indeed starved to death.
