Washington's Crossing, New Jersey

In the middle of the night on December 25, 1776, George Washington led his raggedy troops across the Delaware River at this narrow point to initiate a successful stealth attack on Prussian troops quartering at Trenton. This resulted in a desperately needed victory at a critical point in the Revolutionary War.
