Big Bend National Park, Texas

Stunningly beautiful and desolate cliffs of Santa Elena Canyon rise above the Rio Grande River, a ribbon of brown water representing the separation of two worlds. Though it is bigger than Rhode Island, Big Bend is lightly visited but has astonishing variety: high and low deserts, canyons, evergreen forests, volcanic wastelands and historic sites.
