ITINERARY - MAP
Planning a trip involves dozens of books, references, friends who advise, plus the internet and is much of the fun of traveling. Because I am searching for scenic areas and travel in a large RV with my dog Truman, cities, hot, crowded summers and cold, closed winters are avoided if possible. Instead, state and national parkland is sought for its focus on that area's special attributes. A successful trip also includes at least one elementary school landscape workshop or adult lecture on American Landscape in any of the states visited. Special interest in historical sites and in museums of all kinds lends a secondary nucleus to my travels. Detailed routes are available upon request but illustrated on this map is the specific outline of direction, time and place undertaken.
