Church of St. Francis of Assisi, Taos, New Mexico

Liberties were taken with this study. All the surrounding commercial buildings were removed so that the famous church so beloved by artists once again stands alone, an ancient, melting fortress against sin. Taos itself is packed with artists, craftsmen, bookstores and galleries and has been for over a century. They have been lured by the scenic Sangre de Cristo Mountains as well as the artistic freedom and security of an arts colony.
