Ghost Ranch, New Mexico

Past the rugged Jemez Mountains whose canyon walls are washed in pastel striations, through tiny Abiquiu where Georgia O'Keeffe made her home and 14 miles beyond lies Ghost Ranch. Here the hills and cliffs she made famous look for all the world like kaleidoscope castles complete with turrets and moats. O'Keeffe described it as a "beautiful, untouched lonely-feeling place--part of what I call the Far-Away."
